Asthma... Help!

topic posted Sat, October 27, 2007 - 8:10 PM by  Tyler
My asthma has flared up badly for the first time since i was 18. Although i feel that this is a condition of my environment, I am somewhat locked into my location of Davis, Ca.
Does anyone have any helpful insights concerning ayurvedic healing and ashtma? Or any helpful insights in general?

One effective rasayana (rejuvenation therapy) for asthma if it is caused by Kapha (phlegm induced) is five pippali fruit (piper longum-Indian long pepper) boiled in milk, and drunk.

    Burn Frankincense and breath deeply.

    And here's a breathing technique

    Hope this is helpful.

Enema's of your own morning urine mixed with sesame oil. Five times a week at sunrise whilst visualizing the Goddess. This has a tremendous effect on ones breathing.

enema is good for Vata but not that much, and I would skip the pee. (I've never heard of Shivambu basti)

Punarnava is good, as well as Pippali, fresh ginger juice infused with warm ghee is one remedy, another is mustard oil mixed with raw sugar (1 Tsp each), licked early in the morning. Follow a kapha reducing diet but make sure that there is enough alkaline producing foods as acidity is one piece of the puzzle of the root cause.

Incredible that you haven't heard of this. It is the single most effective ingredient, particularly with vata.
