  Hello Linda,
  you could get Dr. Vasant Lad's book "Ayurveda; the science of self healing" by Lotus press. It is short and sweet.
  It has a dosha self-test.
  When I consult with clients by phone, I try to get their photo first to help determine doshic constitution (Prakruti). My site is durhamayurveda.com
