Hola!
I've got a friend who is having ongoing problems with the above, and I was wondering if anyone would have any ayurvedic suggestions that might help this condition. Also, does anyone have a particular preferance for Ayurvedic websites in regard to the quality of their products, etc.? I would like to order online, but have no previous experience with any of the Ayurvedic locales......
Thanx!

    Re: Heart Arrhythmias.....

There are many causes for cardiac arrhythmia or irregular heartbeat. According to ayurveda, normal rhythm of heart is a function of Vata. Heart is a seat of a Prana and Vyana, which are responsible for contraction of heart and the pumping action of heart. arrhythmia occurs due to obstruction in the flow of these types of Vata

It is necessary to look for dietary and behavioral causes of such an imbalance. Tobacco, alcohol, caffein and some drugs may induce arrhythmias. Stress, anxiety, over-exertion, are some other causes that cause Vata imbalance.

In general, following ayurvedic medications are used in keeping the heart rhythm normal: Yastimadu (licorice), mrugashrunga-bhasma, punarnava, etc. Arjuna is a famous herb that is used very often for heart problems, but it should be avoided if vata is the major causative dosha. I prefer to use arjuna in pitta imbalance. A detailed case history is needed for accurate ayurvedic diagnosis, you may e-mail me at cmthite@ayurvedicrx.complaints with specifics. Panchkarmas of virechan, basti, and hrid-basti are really very helpful. Regarding website, I am in the process of developing one myself! www.ayurvedicrx.com. I intend to provide only original content. I know I must put in more details. Please send your suggestions.
