Fluid in ears

topic posted Wed, May 28, 2008 - 11:40 PM by  John A. Wilson
I've been having a problem with fluid in my ears. Went to a western doctor and found out it was not an ear infection but it was probably fluid coming from my sinuses, from allergies. I am thinking of doing nasya but I wonder if doing it with oil will just aggrivate my kapha more. Anyone have an opinion?

nice question John. What is your Prakruti? Are your allergies Kapha allergies or Pitta? It feels like it would be safe to do Neti pot with up to a 1/8th tsp of salt. this would help to clean out the sinuses and not aggravate kapha if that is a great concern.

      Hi Daneal,
I am a pitta-kapha. my allergies- if thats what it is, are kapha related. I don't feel it in my sinuses, but I get this post nasal drip thing a lot. Did netti with salt today, have not noticed a difference yet but my nasal passages feel good.

sesame oil prepaired with Vacha is good for Kapha, as well as with camphor and vacha as in Suer Nasya Oil available at the Ayurvedic Institute.

i would give the neti a shot first.....if that wasnt enough i might try sniffing vacha powder occasionally.
