for white hairs? And also Ayurveda nutritional tips to help prevent premature causes of white hair?
I would appreciate any helpful responses.
Thanks

Re: Is there Ayurveda hair dye
Fri, August 24, 2007 - 1:29 PMPre-mature greying is a common trait for Pitta doshas. You might try looking into Pitta-pacifying foods, activities, etc. (Do a google search... but overall think of "cooling" foods.)
Also.... henna is a natural hair dye (not necessarily pitta- or ayurveda-specific). Be careful of which henna products you buy because some are mixed with other chemicals.
I've used this brand before: www.rainbowresearch.com/html/henna.htm You can also get their products at Whole Foods. -

Re: Is there Ayurveda hair dye
Thu, August 30, 2007 - 7:05 PMI thought premature grey was in the realm of Vata...as far as I knew, Vata was responsible for the aging process and the later third of the human life cycle. I'd like to know more about the Pitta relation? -

Re: Is there Ayurveda hair dye
Thu, August 30, 2007 - 7:10 PMooh and I remembered that some Indian groceries have Amla hair oil, too...or perhaps you could try using virgin coconut oil as a leave in conditioner overnight (I wouldn't think everday, though). That should pacify both Vata and Pitta.

Re: Is there Ayurveda hair dye
Sat, August 25, 2007 - 3:37 PMYou can get 100% pure henna in most indian grocery stores.
Also a concoction of shikakai and areetha for washing hair is amazing. -

Re: Is there Ayurveda hair dye
Sat, September 1, 2007 - 12:58 AMA Pitta can go gray quite early in life. Circulation to the head is needed. you could try rosemary in it's various forms. Burn the leave and breathe, essential oil in shampoo/rinse, eat it. What color is your hair?
