Anyone have any experience working with Raynaud's Syndrome which is a 'spasm' of the arterioles resulting from autoimmune complexes?

This is stretching my knowledge of Ayurveda and I will be giving massage to someone with this syndrome. Any input on working with the vayus, doshas?

Thanks in advance.

Vata dosha (especially vyana vayu) and rasa-rakta dhatu. Redness, swelling, and chronicity may suggest rakta dushti. Chandan-bala-lakshadi is best for this, which pacifies vata as well as improves ratkta dhatu. Also, oils useful in vata-rakta may help. Eg. kottamchukkadi. Look for hetus (causative factors-dietary, behavioral, social, smoking, etc, family history, etc.) Smoking may vitiate rakta dhatu and vata. If cold alone is triggering factor, you may consider using agurvadi tail. If emotional disturbance is triggering factor, may consider bramhi oil for shirodhara as well as extremity massage. Internal treatment on similar lines may prove useful. Abhrak bhasma is worth trying along with usual anti vata-rakta regimen.
